Our work engages head, heart and hands
This was truly a nourishing day - our seeds, our food, our songs, the drums.

Love is everywhere on the farm.
Please send an email if you would like to be a part of this Earth love. Our formal volunteer recruitment begins in May.

It's nice to talk about food and nicer to actually produce it.

seed is culture - seed is liberation - seed is the future - seed is energy - seed is potential - seed is life - seed is history

April 2011  License was signed for the new site at 49 Van Buren St. in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.  Fleming worked with neighborhood greening groups to organize support for the new farm.

  • Removed debris and carted away toxic soil

  • Cleared out and remediated soil

  • Designed new gardens for space

  • Used recyclable materials to build walls and draining systems.

  • Solarized invasive weeds

  • Created the community composting system

May 30, 2011  New soil arrives and planting begins.  The new stage of farm preparation began:

  • Planted beds with herbs and foods

  • Trees and fruiting bushes arrived

  • Put in farm rows

  • Designed the sacred circle garden

  • Planned medicinal labrinth garden, designed paths and planted medicinal herbs
